Abstract

We give a simple argument to detect chromatic redshift in the algebraic -theory of -ring spectra and give two applications: we show for that , the algebraic -theory of any height Lubin–Tate theory, has nontrivial -localization, and that , the -fold iterated algebraic -theory of a field of characteristic different from the implicit prime , has nontrivial -localization.
